About the Book
This book focuses on travels in Chitral and the Northern Areas of Pakistan between 1973-75. It is part of a Roof of the World series whose goal is to provide a glimpse into the lands and culture of the Great Himalayas as experienced in the 1970's-90's.
It is hoped that these pictures capture some sense of the old ways, centuries-old traditions that have undergone great stress and change due in great part to the current troubles which have engulfed Islamic Asia.
