Dreaming Lilith is a book of erotic pictures; but a very unusual one. Andreia Bueno brilliantly captures and transmits her sexuality. These are neither images of a woman taken by a man in order to satisfy a pornographic need nor the sort of soft-core ‘exploration’ of the feminine that men pass off as ‘art’ so that they can make looking at a naked woman into something culturally acceptable.
This is a series of very revealing pictures taken by a woman trying to get to the heart of who she is in relation to her desires and whilst they inevitably skate around the same imagery that a book of nudes by a man might, the fact that they are self-portraits taken entirely from a female perspective makes this the sexiest book of pictures I have ever seen. In their freshness, frankness and unashamedness, they are a real turn on.
