DMU is an online community of photographers from all across the world. DMU is many things to many people. In part it is simply a highly active uncensored forum where a wide range of conversations from politics to photography to art to relationship advice to what you are eating, drinking or smoking take place. In many ways it is a virtual bar.

However, at the heart of DMU is the photography. A game accompanies the forum where each day members submit photographs to a voting pool. The premise of the game is simple - 10 save votes and your photograph is invited into an exclusive collection of images known as the Lightbox. 10 delete votes and your photo is out of play.

This book represents 75 photos by 40 DMU photographers that were saved by the DMU. The photos published were self selected and hopefully provide you with a snapshot of a new direction in Democratic photography.
