About the Book
Born in Mountain View and raised in Los Angeles, California, Garet Field Sells spent his early childhood collecting fashion photography magazines, deciphering Alfred Hitchcock films, and playing his family’s complete Motown vinyl collection. As a fashion and advertising photographer, Garet’s aesthetic focuses on the power of continuous forward progression while discovering influence from the past. He relocated to New York City after receiving his degree in Cinematography and Directing for Film from The Los Angeles Film School to work with Supreme Model Management and Mynt Magazine in building his editorial portfolio. Garet’s cinematic education in story and his valuable fashion experience, allowed him to fuse a bi-coastal influence of old-Hollywood and modern downtown edge into his photographs.
Garet Field Sells’ popular blog, The Prorsum Imagist, is a fresh insight on innovative trends in fashion, technology, design and pop culture. With the expansion of the brand, he is currently collaborating with Smashbox Studios for their online project Yello and working with several emerging talents in Los Angeles.
His editorial clients to date include: Signature, Flaunt, Mynt, City, URB, Surfer, Demure, Palm Springs Life, P/I Editorial, One Mile Radius, MDM, and MF Magazine.
