In this book, San Francisco-based photographer Bill McClaren matches his 21st Century photographs with lines of poetry by the 13th Century Persian poet, Jelaluddin Rumi.

Bill's tools included Digital, Medium and Large Format, Pinhole and Toy Cameras. Negatives were scanned on an Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner, and post work was done in Adobe Photoshop CS3, running on a dual-processor G5 Mac.

What a beautiful book! Perceptive, unexpected, and gorgeous pictures illuminate Rumi's verses in surprising and revealing ways. I've just about worn out my copy of Rumi, and I expect I'll do the same with "Envisioning Rumi."
