About the Book
For forty-five seasons, William A. Shea Municipal Stadium was home to the New York Mets. It was ugly, dirty, generic. Shea bridged the gap between the stadiums of the past, the Polo Grounds and Ebbets Field and the stadiums of the future, CitiField and the new Yankee Stadium.
The venue hosted four World Series, the wedding of Spider-Man to Mary Jane, a sequence in The Wiz, and of course, the Beatles.
Despite being cookie-cutter, Shea Stadium was home. Every now and then, it will be missed...
