About the Book
This was my first book. I originally finished it in 1990, after the birth of my son, and hand published a few copies. The illustrations are true to that original version with only minor touch-ups.
Here is the tale of a group of creatures known as Thredbears and their efforts to safeguard children as they dream and to protect them from their nightmares. The playground of dreams, a place called the Threadbare Forest, is suddenly stricken by a dark force, and a small group of these teddy-bears-come-to-life undertake a journey to defeat this evil and save the children who are caught in its clutches.

I have always enjoyed writing and drawing (and a little sculpting) as a means of escaping from reality for a little while. When my children were born, I decided to attempt writing my first books. My grandmother wrote several short stories for me when I was little, and reading those stories remain among my fondest memories of childhood. The subject matter and the content of my first books honor the themes of my grandmothers stories and incorporate characters and ideas developed from our own life experiences. Yes, they are works of pure fantasy, but they reflect a little of who we are. I hope you enjoy them.
