Superior Light brings together decisive moments in my career which express a way of seeing and sharing my outlook for all to grasp. From open landscapes to contained details, light will shape the mood, create the atmosphere and stir the emotions within. Each image is a time and space for which I was there and truly fortunate enough to enjoy the moment.

Born and raised in Stratford, Ontario, photography has been a passion for most of his life. Since the late 80's, Doug has been residing in Marathon on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
"The Canadian North Shore of Lake Superior is one of the most rugged, moody & breathtaking landscapes anywhere, I am quite fortunate to call this backyard my home".
Doug's ability to express his vision is portrayed by understanding and capturing these decisive moments. His photographs have won several national & international awards over the years and have been featured in several publications. As a full time professional photographer he also is commissioned for industrial, commercial and portrait photography.

I don't know how I would survive being over a 1000 miles from Superior without my large as life photo canvas of Pebble Beach in the living room. I also can't imagine how you chose the photos for your book considering all of the incredible images you've captured over the years. Thanks for sharing your gift Doug.

I have known Doug and his family for quite sometime. He his one of the best photographer's I have had the pleasure of meeting. Doug's photography send out strong messages and capture the eye.
