this is an erudite and careful discussion of a very difficult subject .. namely the linguistic battles on a remote pacific island, that refused to be drawn in to indonesia, fought and suffered and declared unilateral independence, they say they are portuguese and this chap is trying to work out what on earth they do speak .. it seems like pidgin english ( papua new guinea and its other indonesian half are not far away ) mixed with some sort of indonesian mish mash and some portuguese words .. many lives were lost over this
