Linda Vallejo received her BA in Fine Arts from Whittler College, completed undergraduate studies in lithography from the University of Madrid, Spain, and received a MFA from Cal State University, Long Beach. She has exhibited in the US, Mexico, Germany, and Spain and is in the permanent collections of Los Angeles County Museum of Art (Los Angeles, CA); The National Museum of Mexican Art (Chicago, Ill); Carnegie Art Museum (Oxnard, CA); and the Latino Art Museum (Pomona, CA). Her work has been published in Art Ltd. magazine (Jan-2011) and in several major reference books, including L.A. Rising: SoCal Artists Before 1980; Contemporary Chicana and Chicano Art; and Chicano Art: Resistance and Affirmation, 1965 - 1985. Writing in Fierce Beauty: A 40 Year Retrospective, Peter Frank remarks that “a certain immanence has inflected Vallejo’s work almost from the start, an immanence that infers the artist has access to a special kind or level of vision.”
