When asked to capture a nine year old girl, Rachel, with her dog and best friend, KC, it was important that I portrayed the closeness and trust they had for each other. I also wanted the images to show how proud Rachel was of KC accomplishments. After the photo shoot I asked Rachel to write, in her own words, a few sentences about her and KC so I could incorporate them into the book.
When I delivered the completed book, first Rachel looked at each page by herself, then again with her mom and one more time with her dad. It is always rewarding to see the excitement in clients eyes when they see themselves in a published book for the first time.
