About the Book
What happens when you point a digital camera at an unsuspecting, half drunk teenager?
They let you into their souls for a brief moment or they stick the finger up and hide behind a deer mask. When I take photographs of teenagers, they project an image of who they want to be remembered as for the rest of their lives. An image which fades as we get older and turns into nothing but memories. Teenagers need to have something to hide behind in society. Its this vulnerability, their fear of growing older and the pure spontaneity teenagers show which this book is invoked by. Its the carefree reckless beauty in teenagers lives which no other age group posseses. A short debauched joy ride through the fountain of youth.
This is a book about teenagers, and why photographing them is so important to me.
