She attended the Graduate School of Literary Criticism at Kenyon and her essay on Thomas Wolfe was published by Harvard University Press.
Betty went to work for the World Council of Churches and traveled the world as a church communications executive. She became an award-winning journalist and authored three books using her writing to minister.
