Look into the mind of the author to find the many irritations and aggravations of life; but not just her life. You may be able to see a resemblance to your own, or others lives... that seem to have fallen right out from under them. Taking an idea, adding the emotions and feelings of those who may have had these things happen, and the awful realization that must hit hard when they awaken to a new day in a place where they don't want to be. Maybe reading these pages will help someone see a light that was too dim to have seen before.
The poems are written (not always) from her own experience, but from knowing, there are others out there that have had to deal with a lot worse than she could ever want to imagine.
