About the Book
This book is a collection of the poetry of our grandmother, Eva Mildred Bonney (Ridlon). Grammy always wrote poetry. She wrote about the things around her, which mostly meant the Maine woods, and the people she knew who lived there. She also cooked and baked, kept a garden, did piles of laundry in the summer kitchen for the boys at nearby Camp Katahdin. She made wonderful patchwork quilts for all of us. And if she wasn't busy with something else, she had a crochet hook in her hand, making beautiful afghans, bedspreads, table cloths, furniture arm and back covers, and just about anything else you could think of.
Born March 6, 1889 in Sumner, Maine, to Henry W Bonney and Winnie E Palmer (Bonney), Gram lived in Sweden, Maine throughout her adult life and died June 22, 1972. She was married to George Henry Ridlon (1881-1962) She had 5 children: Max W Bonney, Florence Elizabeth Ridlon (Bishop), Carlton Ridlon, Stephen Ridlon, and Sarah Mildred Ridlon (Burns).
