About the Book
How much does religion play in the life of an individual? And for one who is not of a religious frame of mind, how can one come to embrace a culture which has religion at its heart? In modern times, these may seem like antiquated questions and that the search would not be worth the answer. But often the necessity of the journey is proved not only by the destination, but by the very route. And although we might not have expected it, it is necessity that sets us on this path, that forces us to ask questions and enquire. For where would we be without such question marks? What would we become if we did not enquire and challenge ourselves, once in a while, to undertake something new and confront an idea we had never before imagined. And where will this thought take us?
Impressions is an attempt by the author to reconcile the two disparate cultures that have come to influence his life. Here his visits to Delhi and the Punjab provide those question marks as the two journeys, the cerebral and the real, merge.
