About the Book
It memorializes the personal discovery and camaraderie these teens experienced during the five week program as they explored and learned about the nature of healthy relationships.
Through their photographs, the book also chronicles the many aspects of the program -- the educational exercises, role-playing, interviewing, photography lessons, collaborative art-making and final poetry performance -- which constituted their "work" for five weeks.
Expressions of the Heart is just that – a collection of intimate thoughts, feelings, art and shared insights that come from the heart of its many contributors. It’s an in-road into the perceptions of its ten teenage authors, an inquiry on what constitutes a nurturing relationship, an exploration of collaborative art-making.
All these elements come together beautifully within these pages to create a unique combination of journal, scrapbook, poetry collection and fine art book. It's a wonderful book to share with others and start a conversation about.
