The Wildlife Heritage Foundation based in Smarden, Kent, works to protect big cat species from extinction. The foundation works with the European Endangered Species Breeding Programmes (EEP) with the aim to increase the generic diversity of the cats and attempt the reintroduction of them into the wild.
Partly to support the enormous costs associated with running the sanctuary it offers a unique opportunity for photographers to spend time with these beautiful animals. Under careful supervision, by expert and knowledgeable keepers, small groups can spend a day in a very up-close (sometimes too close!) and personal manner with some of the world’s most magnificent and inspiring creatures.
This small book is dedicated to the volunteers that make the preservation of these sometimes critically endangered species, such as the Amur Leopard, through to the less vulnerable yet still threatened ones like the Lynx, their everyday passion.
