this book was originally planned as my final project for a college course on women, gender, and sexuality i took at Harvard. it quickly evolved into much more as interviewed and photographed the women in my family, talking about their experiences and lives growing up in the rural midwest and as women throughout the decades. it starts with my mother at age 64, down through my niece at age 14, asking the same questions, but getting answers that are greatly shaped by the times.
