In 1995, with a good career as an artist and a satisfying personal life, Mary seemed to be losing her self. She created this series of cloisonne enamel fantasy women as empowering figures for herself. She used a combination of real objects, people, stories and fantasy to create what we all wish we could be...the perfect heroine, the goddess with power over all, the perfect person. Reality has no hold in this world, but oddly enough, the fantasies keep her grounded as the person she was, is and will be.
