Slightly Expressionistic
A national and international artist, Mary-Louise Biasotti Hooper paints seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, still-life and experimental work. Her purpose is to bring viewers a moment of respite and beauty in their stressful lives by taking them away to another place
Born in Greenwich Village, New York City, to an Italian immigrant family, the yearly art shows in Washington Square Park inspired her desire to paint. Since art was not encouraged as a way to make a living, she entered the field of Education. Art became a self-taught hobby until formal training and an art degree in 2002. Today, besides producing art, she conducts art classes an workshops for children and adults in all media. Influenced greatly by the work of Pissarro and Cezanne, she calls her work "Slightly Expressionistic".
Internationally, she is life-juried into the Biennale Internazionale Dell'Arte C
