About the Book
Robin de Lavis was born in London, England after the War, in a prefab placed on bomb rubble. Her father worked for the Atomic Weapons Establishment in Britain, so she grew up knowing the extent we were willing to go to develop nuclear weapons.
This little book is one of hope. In it, de Lavis takes one of the archival photos of a bomb explosion and transforms it by placing it into beautiful works of art. Her mission is to take away our focus on the destructive side of what it is to be human, and instead draw on that part of us that inspires us to be better than we are so that we make the Earth a kinder place to live.
