I love finding a discarded piece of wood which is destined for a fireplace or the landfill, mount it on my lathe, and gently awaken the beauty found inside. No two pieces of wood are the same. That is one of the things that make this art form so much fun. You can duplicate a form or shape but you can never duplicate the "paint".
