About the Book
The images in this book were taken over a three week period in the fall of 2007. What started as a family trip to Rio de Janeiro and Salvador da Bahia soon became a photographic exploration, a visual journey through Southern and Northeastern Brazil.
Although the number of images from Rio are small, they aptly capture the beauty and colors of the "Cidade Maravillosa" with its unforgettable beaches, people and ocean views.
Most of the remaining photos were taken in Salvador da Bahia, the heart of Afro-Brazilian culture and one of the oldest cities in Brazil. With its colorful colonial buildings, crowded beaches and centuries-old forts, Salvador has a distinct flavor that is vividly portrayed in this unique collection.
