A beautiful portrait of a formative time in young peoples' lives, Transitions explores the journey during college years to adulthood and the future through a series of black and white portraits and interviews with the students themselves. Filled with optimism and hope, it is a testament to youth and its resilience.
Shot over the course of the first year the University of California's newest campus opened in Merced, some 200 portraits were made of which 50 images are in this book.
The Sacramento Bee called Roger Wyan's portraits "a glimpse into the heart and soul."
