About the Book
This book contains images of the Men's Ontario Curling Championships as well as the Special Olympics OCA Championships held February 7-13, 2011. I was a volunteer at this event and as a result had very broad access to the facility and events.
In this book, the images were taken during several of the events taking place at the 2011 Tankard in Grimsby, Ontario. But rather than simply taking the images as traditional “photographs”, I decided to exercise a creative approach developed in my use of High Dynamic Range (HDR) image processing in other areas. The result is a set of images of curling and the people who made the events possible, exhibiting a look often described as looking more like watercolour paintings or coloured sketches, rather than a traditional sports photography look, as seen in newspapers and magazines. Make no mistake, these are photographs. It is the processing techniques that provides “the look”.

My dual passions, information technology and photography, have kept my life interesting and rewarding. Photography, for much of my life has been based on film. However, in 2002 I converted (largely) to digital and never looked back. God bless photons.
