Misja Smits (1971, the Netherlands) could be called a nature photographer, but she is far from a traditional one. Instead, her approach is more artistic than you probably would expect while thinking about nature photography. Although photography has always been an important part of Misja's life, it's since 2002 that she focused entirely on nature photography. She has specialized in macro subjects such as flowers, insects and toadstools. Misja has a sharp eye for detail, color, form and composition. Therefore, her pictures have resulted in a surprising and creative oeuvre.
