About the Book
This book is a collection of images that are separated by over twenty years and many miles of road. But they are much closer in my mind than either that amount of time or distance can reflect.
They represent a renewed spirit... a spirit born again along backroads and in sleepy, southern towns. A spirit that dwells in both the memories and the dreams of railroad trestles, abandoned gas stations, lonely road stands, kudzu, red clay, and tattered flags. Fragments of time and place encountered during journeys.
Photographs of discovery, exploration, and freedom... of adventure.
And it crawled from the south.
