Kilauea volcano has been erupting since January 1983 and I've been photographing various phases of this eruption over the past 28 years. These images from February/March 2011 are intimate portraits of the fire goddess, Pele, sculpting new earth. Combined with poems by Meg Weston, and lines quoted from other poets, this book is a poetic tribute to the earth's power and beauty.
