Peace Girl is an action research and leadership development project for girls and women in post-conflict countries. It was founded by a group of researchers and photographers who believe that little is known or done to adequately address the challenges facing young women who have been forced to act as sexual slaves, endured sexual violence, or been forced into combat and service roles in rebel and government armies. There is an urgent need for leadership and action. Who better to lead than the affected girls and women themselves?
