About the Book
Stanley Banfield may just be the most boring man on earth, which is what makes his job at the Las Vegas Public Library, with its velvet-lined Elvis reading room and sequined Liberace bust, so tough. It’s also why Stanley has never acted on his adventure-section dreams.
But that all changes when Stanley learns he’s dying, fast, and a casino owner gives him $300,000 to be named the beneficiary of his million-dollar life insurance policy. Now Stanley can live like there’s no tomorrow, because, well, there isn't. Unfortunately, casino owners don’t like waiting for returns on their investment, so Stanley is chased through Mexico by two hit men, both intent on making Stanley’s death-defying stunts a lot less defying.
But when Stanley lands on the leaky decks of a sailboat captained by Jenna Hart, the sexiest – and toughest – tour guide on the planet, surviving the adventure of a lifetime takes on a whole new meaning. Can a simple librarian find love, cheat death, and outrun the mob? Find out in this adventure comedy that’s part Matchstick Men, part Romancing the Stone.
