About the Book
"Between March 28th and April 11th 2011 I travelled a 3,410km round trip through Norway between Oslo in the South and Tromsø in the North. Armed with a range of camera’s and far too little film I boarded a plane to a country I had only heard about, with nervous excitement re-reading my copy of Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road” to keep my mind and my fingers busy. Before leaving I purposely avoided researching the country as much as possible, planning a route and places to stay only. I wanted to approach the country with a totally fresh perspective on the environment and the way of life there. This way I could avoid the destinations known to tourists and really go out in search of what Norway really has to offer in terms of being a real country outside of popular landmarks and how the Norwegian people exist in an environment so different from my home in Britain. This collection of photographs is a field study of how I see Norway; I was a lone photographer seeing as much as I could of one of the largest countries in Europe with only two weeks in my favour. "

Andy Jones
Leeds, UK.
My name is Andy Jones. I am a 22 year old photographer based in Leeds, UK. My work focusses on documenting, studying and exposing my natural environment and the people and places that inhabit that environment. I take these photos, predominantly on film in both colour and black and white, hand printing when possible. Don't expect to see photos of flowers and people holding hands, I'm just not that kind of guy.
