About the Book
Behind The Ink follows on from my first book Tattoo Life; a photographic exploration of the events and lifestyles linked to the tattoo industry.
The current body of work pursues a slightly different theme.
With Behind The Ink I want to take the focus off of the tattoos and on to the people themselves; a window into their daily lives. By doing this I wish to show a more in depth look at the people. As tattoos are such dominating objects on the skin, their presence can sometimes overshadow other
aspects of people’s lives. The idea of the book is to make them people again and not just objects or walking exhibitionists. We see their possessions, routines, hobbies, and through these details we can get a better understanding of their personal character.
