About the Book
Humour is an important feature in my work as I feel it is a vital ingredient in our lives. My work combines storytelling with illustration, often depicting characters based on my own observation and stories. Recently I have focussed on the amusing resemblance, both physical appearance and in personality, between dogs and their owners.
I mainly use pencil, pen and watercolour, and like to emphasise key areas of the image by reworking over the initial layers. In my final piece I have considered the composition of each double spread in terms of image and text, and also the flow when page are turned. I hope my picture book pleases both children and adults.
