Spanish Missions of San Antonio

This is a revised edition of a previously published book by the same title. The photographs cover the five remaining Spanish Missions located along the San Antonio River. I have concentrated more on the interiors and the artifacts they contain rather than the building structures themselves. Not being Catholic I do not have much opportunity to spend time in their churches. Having time to admire and photograph the religious artifacts turned into a very powerful experience. On the last day, my wife and I arrived at Mission Concepcion just as it was opening on a Monday morning. We were greeted with the sound of Gregorian chants and spent an hour being mesmerized by the reverence that surrounded our picture taking. I could only hope that everyone has a opportunity to have such a moving photographic project.
