2007........5 wks-5th CYCLING TRIP 1,400kms DOWN the DANUBE
Well old age is arriving and pedallingpete is looking for flat ground and minimal traffic. Follow pedallingpete as he starts off in Southern Germany, through Austria and onto the hot baths in Budapest, Hungary. Hoping to loose a few pounds there is a greater chance he will return with a few more, unless he can avoid all those Bakeries on the way.
On this, his 5th cycling trip, in far flung lands, pedallingpete discovers that he doesn't have to suffer to have a meaningful experience. Travelling, as a way of avoiding the last of the Howard years in Australian politics prior to the 2007 election, pedallingpete finds Germany & Austria encouraging in its environmental progressiveness and the Soviet past as a grim reminder of the importance of being politically aware.
