The idea of SECRET GARDEN is to change public space by series of knitted and crocheted objects. Mariëtte Cordes has been inspired by the environment of the Finnish art centre Saksala ArtRadius. The open space, the surroundings and its trees, combined with the works of art have been her point of departure.

To realize this idea Cordes has knitted and crocheted during a whole year dozens of square meters of grass, hundreds of flowers, a great number of fishes, several mini ponds and some dresses.

A whole year dominated by SECRET GARDEN, a house full of knitted grass, flowers and other objects and people who supported her with great enthusiasm.

At the end all the components arrived in Finland and everything could be placed successfully and transform the landscape.
