The book is centered on the new generation of EU migrant workers that have come to work in the UK since 2004. The environmental portraits, shot on medium format, aim to convey a positive view of the people who work in diverse industries such as leisure, the academic sector and the arts, and others which are often not featured in the mainstream media. The majority of the portraits have been taken in Brighton, South East England, which has become a hub for Central/Eastern European workers.
The book also includes two essays, one from Daryana Kotzeva (Social and Labour Affairs, Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria- London) and another from Dr Eugenia Markova (who has co-written the report "East European Immigration and Community Cohesion" with Prof. R. Black for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation)
