I grew up in Texas. Received my BA from Harding University, my MA from Ole Miss, and my Ph.D from UT Dallas. My wife Sherrylee and I served as missionaries in Germany from 1971-79. After our return, I taught English at Oklahoma Christian University until 2003. In 1980, we began Let's Start Talking, a short-term missions organization that has now sent thousands of Christians into 65 different countries. We also train U.S. churches to reach out to non-English speaking people at home as well. We have three grown children and nine grandchildren--all of whom are our pride and joy!
