left alone is a collection of photographs that reveal abandoned places, showing us indirect portraits of humanity. when we examine the objects and places in which we once dwelled or labored we can see our past as an archeologist would. digging through the decay on our doorstep we find a lost world, forgotten and overlooked. left alone allows you linger on the shapes, lines and colors that often go unnoticed.
the majority of the photographs in this book were taken in washington state, predominately in tacoma's tideflat area.
