Flag International is a series of environmental portraits of the international community posing with the American flag. The portraits are accompanied by the subjects' hand-written statements reflecting their current views of America. English translations are provided.

During the summer of 2007 photographer Lauri Lyons explored Europe with the American flag. She traveled throughout eight countries via the rail, bus and ferry. The result of her journey is Flag International. If you have ever wondered how the rest of the world views America, this book is for you.

All of the subjects in the book were given the freedom to personally stylize the American flag while expressing their thoughts about America. What people said and did with the flag is very surprising!
