About the Book
Princess Saio was traditionally appointed as the guardian of the famed Ise Srine in Mie Prefecture. The Emperor always chose a unmarried Princess who was appointed as his representative to handle all the affairs of the Ise Shrine. In this annual festival Princess is brought out of her palace in a very colorful procession in Meiwa, Mie Prefecture.
