In these pictures I want to see past the idea of a flower portrait to the inner and more intimate level of the flower’s forms, where a kind of botanical geometry structures the veins and arranges the colours in ways that celebrate both the vital and painterly. Here my eye is not drawn to the blooms & blossoms of the plant but to the features that both organize it & play with it. Where the flower’s forms are both intentional & chaotic, beautiful & riotous, energized & harmonious at the same time. These organic patterns become the fundamental elements in my final composition.
