About the Book
Over the spring of 2008, I had an opportunity to study in Barcelona, Spain. As an emerging metropolitan city, Barcelona is overflowing with history, culture, languages, and arts. As the sun sets over the Mediterranean and night falls, the city takes on a new face. Natives invite people from all over to travel down Las Ramblas and dance in the beach side clubs until sunrise. Located in the region of Cataluña, Barcelona boasts a different style of Spanish culture primarily in their cuisine and architecture. I was able to be a surrounded by on of the greatest: Antoni Gaudí. It is rare to see one city defined by a singe architect like Barcelona. Throughout the semester I experienced unforgettable moments, and lived in constant motion. Walking Backwards takes a photographic approach to an incredible semester across Europe with highlights of every city and festival along the way.
