About the Book
I earned my Private Pilot Certificate over the Summer of 2007. The following spring, I went back to East Coast Aero Club, the flight club where I trained, at Hanscom Field in Bedford, MA, (very near Boston) and documented a typical day in the life of a flight school.
The entire flight training process is covered, from ground school to aerial maneuvers. In addition, I followed pilots on trips around the Boston area to capture where they go once their license is in-hand. The book concludes with photographs taken over the last two years while flying in the Boston area, including aerial shots over the city.
Along with the pictures, the entire flight training process is narrated. This book provides an excellent introduction to general aviation, and hopefully can explain to the families of pilots exactly why we always have our heads in the sky.

I am an airplanenut. I live and breath airplanes--I'm a private pilot and a senior at MIT studying aeronautical engineering. When I graduate, I'm going to be an airplane designer guy. And if ever there is a sound coming from above, you better believe I'll be looking up.
