Pairs – Portraits – Polaroids.
When you’re on a commercial shoot, there’s a lot of down time between shots. When you’re a young producer with time on your hands, you want to keep yourself entertained and away from the snack table.
To kill time on sets, I’d borrow a Polaroid camera from the wardrobe stylist and shoot whatever struck my fancy. Two TV monitors standing side-by-side happened to be one of those random shots.
Then it hit me – I’ll pose people I work with looking up and away. Oh, and they can’t smile.
Five years, countless shoots and way too many M&Ms later, I give you – The ‘roids.
