Similar patterns can be found in the very near and the very far. The image in the rock is mimicked by the mountain range from the airplane. Fractals abound.
Images of driftwood, mud, sand, water, rocks and the odd fish, mingle with photos taken from a flight over the western United States. Some might fool the eye for a fraction of a second; some are simply patterns that please my eye. If I could just see the pattern in the relationships between patterns, I am positive the answer to life, the universe and everything would be mine.
I include no key to identify which images are near or which images are far. Puzzlement is part of this art project. I'm puzzled by much in life and am passing that puzzle on to my viewers. What is the point of it all? I'm not sure. Maybe it's just pointless and wonderful. Maybe that's the pattern to follow...the dream to chase.
