America has been referred to as "The Great Experiment" and these photographs/proofs are presented as data showing some of the results of this experiment. In photography a "proof" is a print which is used to see if the desired results are captured, it is usually not a final print but something made for the purpose of analysis by the photographer to see if they got what they were trying for- which would then be made into a final print at a later date if it was accurate. This is the first volume of a continuing project which looks at where I have I lived and traveled and tries to assess the status of "The Great Experiment".
