This book is a picture history told by photographs of old objects. no longer in use, that have been saved by people for sentimental reasons. The author, photographer Betsy McKean, arranged and assembled the objects and invested them with dignity, poignancy, and humor to create a luminous and beautiful world of their own. The objects, from the 1700's to the present day trace our history through the ordinary objects of our daily lives. Text speaks for some of the objects.
