In the Old Testament books of Numbers, Deuteronomy, and Joshua, we are given a model to follow in twenty-five examples of healings and promises of health and protection in the Israelites’ search for their inheritance of land. In the semblative books of 2 Timothy, 1 Timothy, and Titus respectively, we are given Paul’s advice for use in our acceptance of our inheritance of life eternal. The inheritance of land in the Old Testament books of Numbers, Deuteronomy, and Joshua is a model for our inheritance of life eternal, the theme of the Pastoral Epistles. Using Scripture from these respective books, 25 principles of ministering to those who are sick including four useful laws for health in this temporal life are discovered for this challenging task.
May you find comfort and encouragement in knowing, that as you minister to those who are sick, the stakes are much greater than you could think or imagine and reach far beyond those who you minister to.
The Bible has a lot to say about health and healing. The Apostle John wrote, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2) At this point in John’s life, he was old and the last of the living that had personally walked on earth with Jesus. He knew the intimate relationship between the health of the body and the health of the soul, having been taught by Jesus.
Let the words of this guide teach you. They come from the words of Scripture. Just like John, we can personally walk with Jesus through the person of the Holy Spirit living within us. May you intimately experience both health and healing.
